We have a biological imperative to connect to others. When, as a child, your authentic voice might have threatened your connection to someone important, your nervous system learned to protect you.

Maybe you were angry that another child had taken your toy so you yelled and screamed and then you were punished - told you were a ‘bad’ child and your parent put you in time out. Your brain was too young to understand the complexities of this situation - instead your nervous system registered ‘anger makes my parents reject me’.

Perhaps you were scared of uncle jimmy and you said you didn’t want to cuddle him and your parents, embarrassed, told you that you hurt uncle jimmy’s feelings and you were embarrassing. Your nervous system learned that your needs threaten your connection to your parents.

Maybe your expression of sadness when your friend moved to another school triggered old grief that lived inside one of your parents and they felt so triggered by it they said to you ‘if you don;t stop crying I’ll give you something to cry about’ so your nervous system learned that crying was dangerous.

Liz is a Mental Health Aware Yoga Teacher, Integrated Trauma Healing Practitioner, and Somatic Therapist known for her ability to make nervous system healing feel grounded, practical, and deeply human.
With advanced training across trauma, polyvagal theory, somatic therapy, chronic pain, and emotional processing, Liz brings both lived experience and professional wisdom to her work.
Her approach is shaped by her own healing journey, turning toward her body after surviving institutional abuse. She knows firsthand the power of befriending the body, and now helps others do the same.
Liz offers in-person sessions, online programs, retreats and workshops that clients describe as nothing short of life-changing.

You will receive the entire challenge via email notifications. There are 4 emails in the 1st week, 3 in the second, 4 in the third and 3 in the fourth. The content is designed to be easily digestible and immediately applicable to your life. Some of the content is podcasts / videos and these are housed in the Somatic Healing Space. As such, to watch / listen you will be prompted to log in. After log in you can watch / listen through any device.
The challenge itself is run through the Somatic Healing Space Membership. When the Challenge begins you will be granted access to the membership for the 28 days of the Challenge. There are many tools and healing practices within this membership portal. During the Challenge, Liz will make recommendations of specific things you can use in the Somatic Healing Space to deepen your results from the Challenge if you have the time and space, but these are optional.
You join the membership subscription but you are only charged a one off fee of $59AUD. At the end of the challenge we will ask you if you want to stay in the Somatic Healing Space for longer to revisit the Challenge or use more of the tools or if you’d like to leave. The membership is charged at $59 per month and there are no lock-ins at all.
You pay a one-off fee of $59 no matter what date you sign up. At the end of the Challenge’s 28 day cycle we will ask you if you want to stay for longer in the Somatic Healing Space to continue to get access to the Challenge’s tools or if you want to leave. If you stay, you will pay $59 per month until you choose to leave. If you leave there will be no further charges whatsoever.
Firstly, it makes it a very low cost Challenge with your choice of whether you want to keep access to the content for longer (and thus pay more) or if you’d like to stay for 28 days and keep your costs down. Secondly, different people learn at different paces, this way you can access the content for the length of time you choose to.
A willingness to see things differently, approach yourself with curiosity, a desire to heal, and approximately 2 hours per week of your time. There are some somatic movement practices within the challenge and there is an expectation that you will practice within your own body’s ability.
No, this is a 28 Day Challenge and once the challenge ends you will lose access to the content. However, if you would like to extend your access you can pay the monthly subscription fee of $59 for as long as you want to and then you will retain access to all the content as long as you are subscribed.
